French Wine

I've had a lot going on lately...1st wedding anniversary, moving, a job that keeps me busy. So needlessly to say wine has been around to enjoy and I will say I am in love with French wine. 

 

 

If you drink wine, try some French wine you won't regret it :)

So the tradition of eating the top tier of your wedding cake on your 1st wedding anniversary kinda freaked me out. I figured it would be dry or moldy or something awful but to my surprise its was amazing! I'm sure not everyone has the same experience but I'm happy to say my experience was a lot better than expected.

I hope to soon have post of projects I have planned..including the use of my french wine bottles ;)

the end of 2012

with the end of the year coming to a close within the next few hours to be exact, I have noticed that my whole wanting to focus on the little things in life has not really been my focus. I have let other things take up my attention, even though I had good reason for some, I am not putting the little things on a high enough level of importance. 

in 2013 i'd like to really focus on taking the time at least one time a week to enjoy something that brings joy to my life.

Little Stressed..Need More Laughs

So whenever I start a new job I usually for the first week or so have "nightmares" lets call them of my job. With waiting tables it was, I was the only one on shift during lunch hour rush and I was running around trying to serve unhappy customers while having management yell at me for not doing a good job. Or when I started a receptionist position and the phones wouldn't stop ringing and now with my new retail position I am trying to run the store alone with too many customers to help at once and needing to make my numbers for the day all by myself..maybe I'm a little stressed lol.  Well I just saw this clip on pinterest of Ellen scaring people and yes it's slightly mean but after laughing I feel like a bit less stressed which shows laughter is the best medicine.

Busy Crazy Life

I've been so busy lately it's just crazy. Everyday I get home from work I think ah.. I just wanna do a post it's been so long but then I give into putting my feet up and watching tv or a movie.
I just got back into retail from working in an office for almost two years and let me tell you this girl's feet hurt!! Hello routine pedicures again, my nail lady is going to love me..lol.
I am going to start sharing more about my job and all the excitement that goes along with it :)

I also can't believe October is almost over!! Where did the time go?! I love fall yet it doesn't really feel like it :/ But having these around sure make it "feel" more like fall

Monday

Oh Monday..weekend you did not last long enough. I seem to never get nearly enough accomplished  I want to on the weekends. I did get some rest though which was very important since I'm starting my new job this week and finishing up my current job this week as well. I knew I'd be extrememly busy working all hours this week and needed to rest up :)

Part of my full yet restful weekend included going over to my parents house last night to hang out, have dinner, let our dog Henry play with my families dogs (Aggie & Julie) and get some energy out. He let alot of energy out..so much Aggie flew onto my mom's lap to get away from all Henry's puppy energy.

We also watched the Emmy's. I had totally forgot they were this Sunday and was bummed I missed out watching the red carpet pre-show. I did though follow up this morning on all the red carpet looks and nothing really jumped out at me that I was in love with. I did though think Julie Bowen looked amazing in her yellow gown and during the show last night she jumped out at me as looking the best. I may be bias since I love her on Modern Family, who won just about everything last night!

So good weekend, busy week this week and looking forward to what excitement it brings:)

My Wedding Photography

I recently got married and had wonderful pictures taken for my bridal portraits and wedding day. I am very pleased with both outcomes of both photographers.

I look my bridal portraits in my great-grandmother's dress. She married on August 23. 1936 and was married 60 years.

I had the privilege of having Lauren Apel take my bridal portraits in this dress. I had tried the dress on last Thanksgiving at my grandmother's house and loved it. It fit me beautifully and made me feel so glamorous, like an old Hollywood actress.

I couldn't of asked for anything better for my bridal portraits, they came out better than I could have ever imagined. Lauren did a phemonial job and was a dream to work with.

I did love my great-grandmother's dress so very much but knew I wanted to have a fuller gown for my wedding day. Once I tried this dress on I knew it was the one I wanted to walk down the aisle in to my future husband.

I was going for a "whimsical" feel for my wedding day and this dress made me feel magical ;)

(I tend to live in fairytale land as my husband would say..lol)

Stephanie Rogers took my wedding day pictures and they came out so beautifully as well. I am so blessed to have had two fanastic photographers throughout my wedding adventures and now call them my friends as well. 

I just love them and could post more all day. I would check out Stephanie's blog for higher resolution pictures, for some reason mine are coming out a little blurry. She did such a great job as well and couldn't of asked for more!

"Full" Weekend

This weekend was full of lots of rest and lots of FOOD! Way too much bad food, I'm ashamed to even admit how much pizza, starbucks, wings, popcorn and more popcorn I ate this weekend. I'm pretty sure I consumed popcorn every evening this weekend. Now the best popcorn came from going to the movies for the first time in what feels like forever. This was the second serving we got when we left the theater to take home with us..we love some popcorn :)

My husband and I went to the movies the first time as husband and wife on Saturday. Yay! We love going to the movies, our love for film is probably one of the biggest interests we share. Due to planning a wedding, our busy schedules and tight budget, this summer we rarely made it to the theater. This weekend though we made a point to make it happen.

We saw Lawless, which was great film to start our days back at the movies..lol. This movie was full of great actors as you can see in the poster above. I have really grown to admire Tom Hardy as an actor. The first time I remember seeing Hardy in a movie was when he was in Warrior (2011). I thought he was a good actor but he didn't stand out too much for me. Now since seeing him in This Means War, The Dark Night Rises and Lawless I am taken in how much range he has as an actor. I am mesmerized by his talent and the life he brings to his characters. Watching Shia LaBeouf in this film was a treat too. Haven't seen him shine in a movie in a while and I thought this film really allowed him to show off his talent. I love Jessica Chastain, I think it is a combination of her classic beauty she possess and her phenomenal acting skills. I know every time there is an awards show I can not wait to see what she wears down the red carpet. She has the glow of an old hollywood actress to her which you don't see too much of anymore. She is one of my new celebrity crushes for sure!

So the weekend was just what I needed relaxation and bad yummy food..

as you can see..this is 1am Saturday night..oh well..

This week it's back to getting our new apartment organized and eating (healthy) home cooked meals at home. We will see how successful I am..lol..hopefully I'll have a good update later this week:)
